A fitness membership that places physical exercise within reach

One of the best ways to prevent disease and live a longer, healthier life doesn’t require medicine and won’t cost you a dime.

Physical activity is critical as we age. Something as simple as an evening walk around the block can lower blood pressure and strengthen neurological function. In fact, routine exercise benefits physical and mental health and keeps you independent as you age, according to the National Institutes of Health.

Older adults should aim for 150 minutes – or 2 ½ hours – a week of moderate-intensity aerobic exercise such as a brisk walk, swimming, or dancing. In addition, aerobic exercise combined with strength training can balance blood sugar, keep the mind sharp, and delay common disease processes.

We offer a free fitness membership with all our plans. This robust fitness plan meets you at your current fitness level with the tools and support you need to achieve your long-term goals.

The National Institute on Aging recommends that older adults consult with their physician prior to beginning an exercise routine. It is also beneficial to ask a physician about what exercise is best for your specific health and if there are any exercises that should be avoided.

Most locations can work with you to help make the exercises fit your needs with the guidelines provided by your doctor once you are cleared to exercise.
